Dr. Sri Sri Trinetra Mahanta Shivayogi Swamiji, the Pontiff of Chandravana Ashrama, presided over the 166th Beladingala Deepaarati (Moonlight Deepaarati) and religious programme held at the Ashrama, offering prayers to Mother Cauvery for timely rains, abundant crops for farmers, and the welfare and prosperity of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Swamiji observed that in today’s times, the number of people who take from others rather than share with them has increased, and that the values, culture, and good conduct traditionally part of our society have considerably declined among the younger generation. He emphasized that only if our country and Dharma are preserved can we preserve ourselves, and urged people to give up excessive desires and learn to live together in harmony, sharing with one another.
Sri B. Rajesh Chander, Director of Coal India, spoke on the occasion and said that participating in the Beladingala Deepaarati was a blessing earned through the merits of his previous birth. He said that whenever he visits this sacred place, he experiences a sense of peace and self-confidence, noting that while the spiritual significance of the place itself is one source of its greatness, the blessings of Trinetra Sri Swamiji are another — together making the Ashrama a place of peace and solace for the thousands of devotees who visit it. He further said that they had witnessed Swamiji’s socially oriented service activities and assured that they would stand alongside him in his efforts towards the service and preservation of Dharma.
Following the programme, Trinetra Sri Swamiji lovingly offered Kai Thuttu (food served by hand) to the devotees who had gathered at the Ashrama and then joined them in receiving the Beladingala Prasada.
On this occasion, Chikkathimmaiah, Administrative Officer of Chandravana Ashrama, T.P. Shivakumar, Secretary, and several others were present.
